First day of school !

by andrii | 9/5/2012 6:39:00 AM

Hello everybody! It is my first blog in Mira Costa College and I’m glad to write it. As you probably know I came here from Ukraine and currently it’s my second semester. Today I want to share with you about my college experience. I will start from the scratch, so that it would be easier for you to follow me.

First of all you have to decide what classes are you interesting in and what is your major. It is absolutely OK if you are still deciding what to choose, even if you haven’t the faintest idea about your preferences you will eventually find out your vocation. And for now you just pick classes such as ESL (an obligation for all international students), math class (it is important to take this class in as much a lot of majors require at least calculus 1). Also take some general education classes they are tremendously helpful for those students who are doubtful about there major. Because who knows maybe you would like it and hey presto you have found your calling, plus all students have to complete general education plan in order to transfer, thus you are killing two birds with one stone.

So no worries guys, remember- first semester is the best semester! You will find a lot of friends that will help you to break your speaking barrier; you will meet your first college professors, don’t be shy to say to him/her that you are foreigner, and of course you will have so much fun here.

P.S. In my next blog I will tell you where and how to buy CHEAP BOOKS!
